Here is a famous song describing the last moments and the feelings of a man who has been sentenced to death. He claims to be innocent.
Here are two versions of this song about the death penalty.
One is from its author, Nick Cave (usually with the Bad Seeds) and one is interpreted by Johnny Cash.
